Book reading: Wow! A Cow!

Parents and grandparents, the wait is over! Bring your K–2nd grade readers to Cary Regional Library on October 6 at 4:30 p.m. for a special children’s reading of Wow! A Cow!—a beloved new picture book bringing a treasured chapter of Cary’s history to life.

Inspired by an oral history provided by David J. Martin, a Cary resident who grew up here during the Depression, Wow! A Cow! reflects themes of resilience, community, and the lessons learned through hard and honest work. As an adult, David J. Martin was one of Cary's first entrepreneurs, and was also a Cary Hometown Spirit Award Winner in 2014.

Cary Town Council Representative Michelle Craig will be the featured reader, and author Rene Cherny will be there to meet families. After the reading, children can enjoy a related activity inspired by the book.

We look forward to seeing you and your young readers there!
