Jack-o-Lantern Gourd Decorating

Cary was once known as the “Gourd Capital of the World,” and we’re celebrating that colorful piece of Cary history with a Halloween twist!

Join us for an afternoon of creativity brought to you by the North Carolina Gourd Society as you paint and/or use alcohol inks to decorate an oversized, pre-carved Martin gourd. Participants must be 11 years or older. Some embellishments will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring your own.

Best of all, the workshop is free and you’ll take your decorated Jack-O-Lantern home with you! Each gourd includes a light kit. Please bring a box for transporting your gourd home in case it is not completely dry.

Finished gourds should be displayed in a protected location, such as a covered porch, rather than fully outdoors.

We have room for 30 participants. 

IMPORTANT:  Participants must be 11 years old or older.
