Performances at the Page - Lyricosa Quartet

Enjoy an afternoon at the historic Page-Walker Arts & History Center with Lyricosa Quartet!

 Their program will feature works by two titans of the string quartet literature, Franz Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven, alongside two shorter, contrasting forays into the evocative beauty of folk song and quirky exploration: The Riddle (Gåtan) by Karin Rehnqvist and Italian Serenade by Hugo Wolf.

 The Riddle was commissioned for Kronos Fifty for the Future, as part of their free library of 50 learning pieces to help string quartets develop and hone the skills necessary for performing 21st-century repertoire. 

Formed in the spring of 2018, the Lyricosa Quartet is a vibrant string quartet based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Lauded for their “beautiful, rich tone...and stylish phrasing,” (Classical Voice of North Carolina), they are committed to seeking out and exploring the heart of every work that they play, bringing that journey to their audiences.
