Paint the Page: Teen Art Competition (08 Nov 2026)

Calling teen artists in and around Cary, NC! Students ages 13-18 are invited to join us at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center on Sunday, November 8th for Paint the Page, a day of artmaking to capture Cary’s historic 19th-century railroad hotel using the medium of their choice. Following a short tour of the Page-Walker Arts & History Center, students will take inspiration from the building’s history and appearance to create an artwork on site.

Plan to arrive at 1:00pm on November 8th to meet the other artists and to get a tour of the historic railroad hotel and gardens. Then set up your easel and capture your inspiration using the medium of your choice! We welcome photographers to photograph the event, but please no official photography entries. Be sure to bring all the supplies you need, including easel, stool/chair, brushes, paint, canvas, etc. We will supply water and light snacks, but feel free to bring your own food and beverage. You'll have until 5:00pm to complete your work, and must leave your finished piece at the Page-Walker at that time.

A jury will review the submissions from the artmaking event the following week, and a reception will be held on Sunday, November 15th from 4 to 5pm in the main gallery of the Page-Walker to honor all participants and award prizes for best-in-show and judges’ choice. Friends, family, and the public are invited to attend.

A $100 cash prize will be awarded to the best-in-show winner. Five $50 judges' choice prizes will also be awarded. The best-in-show will be exhibited in the Page-Walker through the end of the calendar year. All other artists can take their work home after the reception.
