  Brian Reagin has been Concertmaster of the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra since 1988. Before joining the NC Symphony, he was Assistant Concertmaster with the Pittsburgh Symphony, under Music Directors Andre Previn and Lorin Maazel.

  This is the fifth annual Carole J. Wright Memorial Concert, named for long-time supporter of the concert series and benefactor to the Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel.

  Join the Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel as they present a panel discussion on the experiences, lessons, and challenges of genealogical research. Learn how to explore your family history by hearing what has worked for others like you.
  
  This free program is offered as part of the Friends of the Page-Walker’s Historic Preservation Series.

• Herbal Remedies from The People's Pharmacy®

  Join the Friends of the Page-Walker for a very special evening in conjunction with Herbfest, as they welcome Terry and Joe Graedon of The People's Pharmacy® for a lively discussion on herbal remedies. 
  
  Guests will have an opportunity to meet the Graedons at a reception following the program. 
  
  A limited number of tickets are available to this event and a sellout is anticipated. 
  
  All proceeds will benefit the Friends' Garden Program.

• 3rd Annual Herbfest

  Join us for the 3rd annual Friends of the Page-Walker Herbfest, which will be held rain or shine on the beautiful grounds of the Page-Walker. Visitors will have many opportunities to find out all they need to know about starting an herb garden by touring the Page Educational Garden, including a close-up look at the historic 1850’s Page smokehouse.
   
  In addition to touring the Garden, festival-goers can watch herb cooking demonstrations and stroll through booths selling a wide variety of herbs, crafts and garden products. Each vendor will be offering items related to gardening, herbs, native plants, perennials, nature and cooking.
  
  Lunch will be available for purchase from some of our vendors. Activities for the kids, too!
  
  New this year will be a special folk concert featuring the Charles Pettee Duo, who will perform from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
  
  And be sure to enter our raffle for a chance to win a beautiful painting of the Page smokehouse. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and will benefit the Friends’ garden projects.
  
  In addition to showcasing the Page-Walker Arts & History Center and its beautiful grounds, the annual event also raises visibility of the Friends organization and its mission. While there is no charge to attend the event, any proceeds from the sale of Page-Walker memorabilia will benefit the Friends’ ongoing historic preservation, educational and archival efforts.
  
  This event is co-sponsored by the Town of Cary and The Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel.

• Preservation Speaker Series: "What Have We Got to Lose? An Annual Inventory and Report to the Community on the Status of Historic Treasures In and Around Cary"

  Each May, the Friends examine Cary’s historic properties and report their status to the greater community in this popular program.
  

  A slide show tour showcases properties in Cary’s three historic districts, as well as familiar and distinctive homes and buildings that stand alone, and structures built in the 1940’s not included in the previous year’s report.
  

  Narration by members of the Friends’ Historic Preservation Committee describes the historic and architectural significance of the properties and includes interesting tidbits about former owners and their place in Cary’s history.
  

  The program will be followed by an informal reception.
